Help? Should I trim this off?

I got this air plant about a month ago and it’s the fist one I’ve ever had I don’t know much about them ive been watering it about once a week but other than that haven’t really messed with it but I’ve been doing some research and I decided to take a second to take off some of the brown crispy leaves and I wondered if I should trim the end it of it, it looks like it has a root but it also looks brown and dry should I trim it a bit?
