This is growing in a highly disturbed area too! There were others around it. All growing and thriving in a completely anthropogenic environment. I’m guessing they go dormant before they mow it in summer.

wow!! tag that shit on iNat.
how big was the patch? does the area seem at risk for further disturbance? is it worth it to move some of them elsewhere or are they safe there?

Dig it. Are they open 24 hours? Plants are far from the front door? Try to be unobtrusive, use a small trowel and some small pots vs a Bobcat. Early morning maybe. Bloodroot transplant pretty well in my experience. Try not to break the roots, the yellowish/orange/red corms or bulbs or whatever they are called. Try not to get the sap/juice on your skin or clothes. Don’t take to long to replant them. East metro Atlanta GA.

Years ago was driving through a new subdivision getting cut into some woods in east metro Atlanta and saw what I thought might be Perfoliate Bellwort. Went back on Sunday when all the workers were at home and YES! Dug those guys up, they lived a long time in my home wildflower patch. Months later there was a driveway in that spot where the flowers were.
