I got my first African violet. I repotted it in African violet mix (Espoma) and added some Shultz African violet plant food (followed the instructions on the bottle). It looks terrible, what should I do?
I don’t know if it’s a general rule for all African violets or just babies but I know a lot of people say use quarter strength fertilizer.
It’s also hard to tell if it’s over or underwatered.
Some may say the pot is too big but it’s also hard to tell. And I wouldn’t re pot it again regardless.
It the soil is wet it may be too wet and if it’s dry it may need a drink.
I personally have never had pests so someone might have an insight if it’s pest related.
Hope you get some answers better than mine.

When did you repot it? How long did you have it before the repot? When did you last water it? Are the leaves firm or limp? Or are they limp on the outer edges & firmer in the center?
One definitive thing I can say is put it in a dome or plastic bag. I do it after all repots -it helps them recover very nicely. Keep it in there for a week or two- they need the humidity. Try to avoid letting the leaves touch the walls so the condensation doesn’t damage them.
Also, I would cut off the flowers that are damaged or spent … or maybe even all of them. I know they’re pretty but your plant needs its energy to recover. But depending on when you repotted, give it at least a day before you start chopping anything off.
For any other advice I need to know the answers to my first questions.
