Most of my native planting efforts have been focused on my front yard, but this year, the daisy fleabane decided it would get a start working on the backyard for me. You can really smell the pleasant aroma of the flowers when they come up in masses like this.

Daisy fleabane was my unofficial entry to native gardening, when I let a section of yard go without mowing longer than usual, and had a mass of fleabane show up that I couldn't bring myself to cut down, in what became my first native garden bed. It never came back in the same numbers in that spot, so it's nice to see this area booming instead now.

I wish my fleabane was this well behaved. When I let it all grow last year it all ended up well over 5 feet tall 😂

Holy shit! I’ve never seen a patch of fleabane like that. How cool.

Mine just pop up wherever they want and mix in with other plants.

Fleabane was the first native I used my phone to identify and it’s been on me list ever since! It’s all around the wild area by my street, so I’m patiently waiting for it to make an appearance in my yard lol.

Congrats on your amazing patch, I know it brings so much joy 🫶

I really love this flower. It feeds all the teeny tiny bees

    It’s sooo fluffy!!! 😭

This is what I’m doing with (I think) wild violets. Been leaving them in place instead of weeding out, and they’ve got purple flowers in abundance this year, never noticed those before.
