Been taking mediocre care of this plant for nearly a decade and just got its first flower! Any info on the plant and how/why it is finally flowering would be appreciated!

Very original inflorescences!😍 I had a plant like this, but it never bloomed.🥺

Don’t cut the peduncle when the flowers fall, it will flower from the same spot again.

Looks like publicalyx. Does it smell good?
From my understanding, many hoyas require bright, indirect lighting and regular watering for them to initiate blooming. I helped mine out with some foliar fertilizer spray on occasion and I made sure to get them enough water if they start the peduncle process. It’s also pretty common for them to abort the flower making if conditions aren’t quite right. Yours looks so pretty!
