I just got this (I thought the pot was kinda cool) but didn’t realize it was so moist and its roots weren’t looking so hot. I know I gotta get him some drainage. But should I just move it to a bigger pot with drainage and add some soil? Or do I need to do something with the roots first? Thanks, I’m new to this

definitely move to a pot with drainage but first rinse roots, cut off all the black & dead ones, preferably spray roots with peroxide then repot with new soil into a draining pot.

The roots look fine? Move the whole thing, dirt and all, into a same-sized pot with drainage and let it dry out before watering again.

The roots look fine to me? I’d get it in a new pot with drainage for sure. Just let it dry out before watering again.

I don’t think you need to re pot at all. I have tons of plants in glass. It’s actually nice because I can literally see when they need water all the time. Personally I’d just keep it as is. Give it a drink when it’s dry.

Just cut off the dead, black, mushy roots and soak in a water and peroxide solution (2 parts water/1 part 3% peroxide) soak for 20-30 minutes. Then repot in an aroid mix as pothos’ are aroids, and require a well draining chunky soil mix, one with bark and perlite in it. Afte trimming the dead stuff off the roots, you probably can repot into a pot that has good drainage and 1-2 inches bigger than the rootball to avoid overwatering and root rot. Good luck with your pothos! 😁
