I work at a garden centre and last night a lot of the plants mainly hardy perennials, got badly iced over and I'm basically wondering if they can come back if the ice melts or if it's just better to toss them. A few of them have rock solid soil and I'm not sure if that's from the cold or not. Any help is appreciated!

I do not have much hope for those canna lilies. The peony’s are hardy though, the foliage will definitely die off but I’d bet the tubers are salvageable. Definitely suggest frost covers to the nursery manager!!

Even if they survive, they won’t be retail grade.

I work for a nursery supplier to major US retailers.

With these photos, in my stores with my product, this would all be scrapped and we’d replenish with new product. And in a pay-by-scan situation like Home Depot, the store would pay a negligence claim to the supplier for failing to protect their product.

You could sell them discounted if they show any sign of new growth
