QUINCY — John Wood Community College’s College for Life program will host its second annual CFL Blazer Garden Market Plant Sale from April 20-24 in the JWCC Greenhouse.
The student-led market will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily at the Quincy campus, 1301 S. 48th St., and will feature a variety of plants, flowers, herbs and vegetables.
Items available will include flowering plants that attract pollinators, vegetable starters such as tomatoes, peppers and cucumbers, as well as herbs including basil, rosemary and parsley. Hanging baskets, houseplants, succulents, and fairy gardens will also be available.
Hosted by the College for Life program, the event provides students with hands-on experience in plant care, organization and customer service while engaging with the community.
All items will be available for a suggested donation, with individual plants starting at $4 and larger items such as hanging baskets and potted arrangements ranging from $5 to $50. Proceeds support the College for Life Scholarship Program. The program provides students opportunities to build skills for employment and independent living while participating in campus life.
Community members are invited to attend, shop and support the program.
