Humidity is usually number 1 reason for browning crispy edges like that on Calatheas, then also over watering and soil not being chunky or draining enough.

Spider mites maybe? The discoloration on the second pic is a giveaway.

I had this same issue and I remedied it by using rainwater as they are sensi to tap water.
