The Potomac Valley Watercolorists presents “Catching the Light,” its 2026 art exhibition and sale May 5 through June 27 at the Green Spring Gardens Horticultural Center, 4603 Green Spring Road in Alexandria. Each year, the group features “The Painted Garden.”

Show hours will be Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Sundays from 12 noon to 4:30 p.m. Exhibit space may close on occasion for program use. Please call ahead to check availability at (703) 642-5173.

Make plans to attend the Artists Reception on Sunday, May 17, from 1-3 p.m.  The exhibit and reception are free and open to the public.

This annual fine art show spotlights many of the region’s most highly skilled and well-known water media artists, and features more than 100 original framed works on display and available for purchase. 

Exhibit Chair Leigh Fulton notes, “The popularity of our show at Green Spring Gardens draws us back year after year to this lovely setting.  Our paintings, surrounded by springtime glory, make a perfect pairing for a relaxed stroll with a positive vibe. Buy some flowers, herbs or a painting.”

Directions to Green Spring Gardens: From I-395, take Exit 3B (Little River Turnpike West, Rte. 236). Turn right on Braddock Road, then turn right at the entrance on Witch Hazel Road.

Potomac Valley Watercolorists is a juried society of fine art painters who promote creative excellence in water media within the Potomac Valley region in Virginia, Maryland and Washington D.C.
