Police are appealing for information after a man was stabbed in a beer garden by masked men.

Officers were called by the ambulance service at 11.50pm on Saturday to reports of an injured man outside the White Horse pub in Sudbury in Suffolk.

Police said the man, who was in his 20s, had earlier been assaulted in the beer garden at the Comfortable Cow pub in King Street in the town.

Two men, both said to be wearing face coverings and carrying bladed weapons, are reported to have attacked the victim, leaving him with a single stab wound to his arm.

The victim then ran from the scene, followed by the suspects, turning right from the pub up King Street.

He was taken to hospital by ambulance, where he remains in a stable condition.

Police described the first suspect as at least 5ft 6ins tall, with a skinny build, wearing a black Adidas-style hooded top and a balaclava.

The second suspect is described as being less than 5ft 6in tall, with a slim build, wearing black clothing and a balaclava.

Officers believe the assault was a targeted incident and that the people involved were known to each other.

Police are reviewing CCTV and carrying out further inquiries in the area.
