According to the AVSA's Sport Directory, White Feather has a registered sport known as 'Hunter's Candy Cane.'
Hunter’s Candy Cane (11219) 07/17/2019 (K. Muzalewski) Single chimera fuchsia sticktite wavy bell/white stripe. Medium green, plain. Semiminiature.
Candy Cane is described as having chimera blooms whereas White Feather was sold to me simply as a "pink sport of" with no formal identification, so it is likely that the sport I received is not Candy Cane.
From my own experience with sports, I do know that offspring can sport differently from the mother plant, and that includes reverting back to its original, non-mutated form. I want to test this out, so I gave this crown a good grooming and will be putting down the leaves to see if I can get a true-blooming White Feather and a true-blooming Candy Cane.
This crown is still very immature but is getting ready to begin its first bloom cycle under my care. I received this plant about a month ago without blooms so I have no idea what to expect. Overall, I love the symmetry of the foliage. White Feather is an easy grower with bell-shaped blossoms which is really the only reason this plant caught my attention. It's a semi-miniature which is not my favorite because I do like big violets, but I'll do it for the bells.
