Of course, I had to go out of town during the first flower opening and came back to see it hanging limp and dry, as expected. Not to worry! More flowers coming. There is one today that is as the first one was when I left. When I give this one its weekly soak, I prop her up amongst her sisters so the spike stays out of the water. The buds are beginning to show purple where the next flowers will come, one at a time, it seems.
Number one is still stubborn. I still hold on to my belief that it will bloom this year. She is the biggest, so I am curious if she will have a nice branching flower stalk. It would be cool if she had even more branches than 4 has. I mislabeled my photos this week, with 3 and 4 switched. 3 has 2 branches and 4 has 3. 4 continues to develop with the buds getting fatter. Such a process! we are something like four months in at this point.

Haha yeah that usually happens when you are waiting for something to happen. But now that’s she’s started every other day will bring a new blossom.
