Terrarium / Paludarium Setup Suggestions
Hi – I recently just got a new tank! It's a reptile tank that's 36"W x 24"H x 24"D with about 5" of dept for water.
I was thinking about creating a water section in the tank and fill the rest with soil.
I was thinking about getting a plastic container that's 24"x16"x7" and cut off one end on the 24" side and then gorilla glue it to the front of the tank so it's like an aquarium in the front with the planted section in the back.
The other option of walling off the section is to maybe buy a Lexan panel from the Home Depot and cut that into the 3 walled sections and then gorilla glue it.
Has anyone every created something like this?
If you have any suggestions, please feel free to let me know! Thanks.
Hummm… now that I think about it – maybe I should've just gotten an aquarium and that would've been cheaper… but more difficult to do maintenance I guess.

This kind of setup is prone to leaking barriers, based on what I have heard. Once that happens the land section will get waterlogged and most plants will rot.
I’d buy 3 glass-plates with 3-4mm thickness and use aquarium safe silicone.
