Am I correct in assuming raspberries couldn’t cross this concrete drainage channel?
I hear raspberries can grow pretty aggressively but I’m assuming they couldn’t cross this? It’s about 3 feet wide and over 2 feet from the bottom to the top.
Uhh, I’m no expert but I’d still say it’s possible. My raspberries are INSANE. Everyone warned me but I never understood just how badly they want to take over and dominate my entire garden, lol.

You are assuming wrong.
My raspberries are along an old cracked concrete pad. There is a large crack about 5 ft from the edge of the slab where I get a couple canes that pop through every year. This crack is covered by a 25* 12′ shed and only gets light when I open the door for a maybe 20 mins a couple times a month. The raspberries WILL cross that gap.
Edit: This is only year 5 of raspberries in this location so they could and probably will become stronger with time. I am convinced you could plant raspberries in a concrete box and they would escape.

Life finds a way, this goes double for raspberries.
That said. It’s a substantial barrier, and should be manageable.

Incorrect. It could absolutely go under and over.

~~Raptors~~ Raspberries will root through that concrete to get to the water in it. Autocorrect knows something we all need to hear.

Silly humans, where there’s water there shall be a way for berries. I can never trust a berry vine in soil to stay put.
Juniper-thereabout
They won’t go over, but pretty sure they will go under.
Good luck.

I have 2 raised beds, and a few pots, about 5-7 feet from a raspberry in ground bed. Every year, i get about 15-20 raspberry shoots popping up in the middle of my raised beds. Also, lord knows how, there are raspberry shoots INSIDE this 12 inch diameter pot near by. Maybe the things wormed in through the drainage holes?? Insane

Critters called birds, squirrels, anything that eats and poops will assist their travel.
