I started working again for the first time in three years last week and told myself when the right plant came along, I'd buy it with my own money as a way to reward myself for working again, but that I'd also make it a challenge. This beauty, along with two others, showed up at my local Kroger for $40. Around here, that's a steal for *this* plant, *this* healthy and at *this* size, let alone seeing them pop up in a Kroger Grocery of all places when you NEVER even see them at the garden stores here!
The other two were snatched up within the day, I went back the same evening I'd first seen them and there was only one left. I kept ignoring it because I had a quota to make before I could even THINK about a reward plant, but it just kept calling to me.
I checked the bigger store yesterday to see if there were more at that location, but there were none, or at least they haven't gotten their shipment yet, if at all. I still told myself just to play it cool because I hadn't quite hit my goal yet and wasn't sure if I would before the plant was gone.
Today, I hit my quota at noon. I got so excited. I went home to take a break before picking up a kiddo from school, made sure everyone had snacks and went back to work, determined to make the money for it as to not affect the money I needed to keep aside, didn't quite make enough before dinner time, came back for dinner, and went right back to work.
I almost had to call it quits and hope it would still be there tomorrow, but my last trip came in just before I clicked the 'offline' button. I had made enough. I was vibrating with excitement from my car all the way through the store and again in the car all the way back to my house. This is the biggest sense of accomplishment aside from my kids that I have felt in a long, long time.
My beautiful Thai Constellation, you mean much more to me than you will know, and probably more than will make sense to anyone else. You are my prize in addition to being my newest child. Welcome to the family.

It’s beautiful, like gold sprinkled on the leaves.
She’s beautiful and happy to be rescued 💖
She’s beautiful! Perfect reward!
Gorgeous I love the background story behind this plant. I hope you give it plenty of light and remember it is prone to root rot so make sure to dump out excess water and let it fully dry out between watering
Wtg! I love how she was just waiting for you. 🥰
