I love this video!! Gardening is an interesting hobby. It looks wonderful then sad but we all keep going looking for perfection! Your photos were wonderful!
When I moved to the Pacific Northwest , I found the traces of a Japanese garden in my yard and have begun to restore the old garden elements that I found. I connected with neighbors who had lived in the area for over 40 years and they helped me sooooo much. One of them even gave us iris corms from the original, now historical plantings.

This was very interesting. I think I fall somewhere in the rustic/cottage style. I do know my zone in the US & soul type, clay, & where my sun hits. We have a large yard are, almost 3/4 acre & mostly grass. But I'd love ve to create some more intentional spaces so this really helps
My dream garden is one that is large enough so I can block out a secluded area for a white garden. I can only imagine how magical it must be to sit in such a garden during a full moon on a Summer's night with the scent of night blooming Jasmine and Gardenia gently filling the air.

I would absolutely love to have a Japanese Maple but I don't think there are any that survive to -40c winters. This year I am creating some new garden beds and hopefully creating a fenced in vegetable area as I have a lot of deer friends. I may possibly be thinking very optimistically right now haha but that's all part of the fun of gardening!
I just moved 2 Oregon from sunny California a few yrs ago. I will probably have 2 hire someone 2 design my backyard as it is a blank slate and i dont even know where 2 start. This was a great video 2 watch though 😊

Great video! You really helped me define my style by showing such clear paragons of each type. I love the Mediterranean garden, but not sure I can do it in my region. (I do have some lavender.) My goal this season is to raise many of my beds to waist height so I can continue to garden as I get older. Too hard on my knees and back to bend over or kneel!
