My Japanese Beautyberry is starting to wake up for the year!

I've wired out the smaller shoots approximately where I want them and plan on letting those grow unpruned for the season to try and set and thicken them so that I have more growth to work with coming out of the base of the tree. Mostly just watching for wire bite and removing/reapplying wire throughout the year as needed.

I plan to do some pruning/defoliation to the larger "Main" trunk on the right this year in order to try and promote ramification and to balance the growth to the rest of the tree.

Any feedback or comments about the species or this tree in particular and my plan for it for the year would be greatly appreciated!

For me the main structure us a bit too McDonalds, and I would change up the main structure. Also I would probably hide the scar in the back.
Defoliation has best results on a nearly finished tree, to get the last twigs in place.
