VICTORIA, Texas — Elementary school students from Yorktown discovered the world of gardening and native plants during a field trip to the Victoria Educational Gardens on Wednesday.
The Victoria County Master Gardener Association welcomed the young visitors as part of their educational outreach program, which serves approximately 600 students each year through organized field trips. Association members volunteer their time to lead these educational experiences as part of their mission to educate the community about gardening and environmental stewardship.
During the visit, students explored multiple learning stations designed to engage young minds with hands-on gardening experiences. The children toured the butterfly garden, where they learned about the relationship between plants and pollinators, and discovered various plants native to Texas.
