I check them regularly and water if they are starting to dry too much.
Yes I always leave the top a little loose and spray some water on when I’m watering the rest of the trees
I’ve never seen this before. How hard is this to do and is there any risk to the parent tree?
I always water, but to be fair I’m still new to air layering and have only worked with ficuses.
I’ve been tempted to air layering some of my crepe myrtles. Some have this lovely bark that is streaked in light red and yellow. I’m inspired to get off my tail feathers and start. How long do yours take to get a good root ball?
I think as long as you have good drainage holes you can water regularly with the parent plant. If you’re doing the plastic wrap and tinfoil method my understanding is you typically just squeeze out excess moisture and then leave it be as to not flood the air layer with additional water.
Are crapes difficult to remove th bark?
