My post on using Dichondra for slope control had a few likes, so I thought I'd share the other parts where I've been growing Dichondra to replace wood mulch.

Evil black birds keep digging up my mulch, and I'm tired of the mess after windy days, so here I am 4 months later.

Slowly spreading, and I'm taking cuttings and spreading seeds to encourage spread

Some notes:

– Can grow from Frothergill seeds but only in fine mulch like Euci mulch, no chance in big wood chips lol

– Have to plant mature ones in areas with big wood chips to spread successfully. Tubestock dies off a lot here, too

– Needs a lot of water to establish when small. A lot of seedlings died off, but once it gets spreading in a spot, it's hardy. Seedlings happy in the rainy weather right now

How timely, just sowed a heap of seeds on the weekend!

  2. Looks awesome! I just planted tubestock and seeds to see how they each respond… hoping they’ll spread out to cover all the ground between my other natives
