The main pavilion serves as the centerpiece, defined by a streamlined sail-style structure that mimics a vessel heading for the sea. The design expertly balances technologies with Eastern Zen, as transparent curtain walls and light-and-shadow gratings create a sense of ethereal movement.
The garden’s layout features an elevated walkway paved with seashells, which symbolizes the historical shipping route, complemented by a cohort of sea elements such as waves, sail, and ports.
The exhibition utilizes scents as a medium, inviting visitors to journey through a botanical map of the Maritime Silk Road. From the exotic florals to the frankincense and cinnamon from Asia through the Middle East to the Mediterranean, the garden proves that the legacy of the Maritime Silk Road is not just found in history books, but in the very air we breathe.
