Every year I plant more roses, and every year I wish for even more roses in the garden the next year!
I have got lots in the ground in recent weeks and now I’m turning attention to the pots. This was a neglected area of the garden last year but after a weed, clean and a lick of paint I’m hoping it will be a calming place to sit amongst the flowers and enjoy a cup of tea and listen to the birdsong.
So these new pots are all planted up with roses that will be blooming beautifully next spring, summer and autumn.

What a lovely place for a cuppa! I have 2 questions
What's the stuff you're putting on top of the compost in the pots? Is it to help keep moisture in?
Any recommendations for where to buy big pots that don't cost a fortune?
