    Those are not petals ! Those are not even the flower, this is just the inflorescence, which is not the flowers ! Basically what you see are called bracts, they are modified leaves that seals and protects the flowers. The actual flowers are still hidden and will come out from in between each bract in a few days. They will be small, white or purple (or both).
    The bracts of the inflorescence of Goeppertia roseopicta are green like on the picture, the flowers will be white don’t worry
