Two of my Salvia plants suffered the same fate.
I thought someone stepped on the plant when it first happened in the front yard (we haven’t got front fence). And then it happened to the plant in the backyard. Then I started thinking it could be animals..
Please help identify the culprit! I have 3 more Salvia plants that are currently unharmed.

I’ve seen this kind of damage when my cat sleeps on my plants
We get similar damage from possums. They jump off the roof and use my garden as their soft place to land.
