Bought a house a couple years ago and according to Google we think its wisteria? it smells lovely but I've heard the roots can be kind of tricky. It's currently fused with our fenceline.

Yes, it’s Wisteria – beautiful, you’re lucky to have it growing in your garden! 🙂

A beautiful wisteria, as others have said. This looks to be Chinese wisteria. You can be sure if it twists counter-clockwise as the Japanese variety is the opposite. It’s very vigorous but can be pruned hard. Watch where it grows and keep under control because it can pull palings from fences and gutters from houses. I’ve not found the roots a problem. Gorgeous plant to have in your garden.
