Hi everyone, I bought a house in SW Austin last year in May and there were two pear trees in the back, both of which were full of leaves, and one of which produced pears. This year though, the one that produced fruit last year has essentially no leaves on it, and I feel like it’s late in the season for leaves to be missing. Any thoughts/advice? I haven’t seen other pear trees in my neighborhood, so not sure if this is normal for this tree or not.

I’m NW and mine flowered weeks ago and is full of new leaves. This is two years post fire-blight, so while it’s healthy, it’s still recovering from a pretty serious illness.
Yours, by comparison looks dead, I’m sorry to say.
Did you water it much? We’ve just had a historically dry fall and winter, and trees that weren’t deep watered are dying all over the city right now.
Did you water it throughout the year?
Damn. Well, I feel dumb now, but being new to home ownership, I just assumed the watering I did for the yard was sufficient for the established trees. I didn’t realize that established trees needed specialized watering, but I guess that makes sense now given how dry the winter was.
Is this a lost cause, or should I start trying to water it now?
Nevermind, I did the scratch test and it was green so not a lost cause yet. I’ll start watering it.
My peaches look like this. They’re 100% not dead, just very late to the party. Got a handful of buds recently, and a few leaves. They’re being temperamental little so and so’s.
