This is a 7ft trellis. I have planted 20 green bean plants around it. I hope to be covered in green beans soon 🙂

I love green beans too. Which varieties have you planted and are you going to add any bush beans to that bed?

You and me both! This year I’m planting 6 varieties of pole beans (mostly yard longs) and am planning to add bush beans anywhere I have gaps big enough. We’re going to be eating so well!

I went a little crazy with my green beans this year too! How did you do that trellis? It’s really nice!

I have that exact trellis I found it was way too weak. I ended up adding black chickenwire over everything which made a huge difference.

Do you mind telling us how you built that trellis? It’s beautiful! I don’t even know how to begin to set up stuff like that

So I usually drop around 40-60 bean plants into a trellised bed about 1/4 this size. Lots more room to plant there.

My theory is green beans are the healtiest possible food (bean and vegetable in one). I started growing the variety my grandfather grew (Burpee’s stringless green pod bush bean) last year and one of those beds was plenty for my family and a groundhog. Hopefully you will be canning or something with that many!!

BTW my grandfather is turning 100 this month and had a vegetable garden every year until this one. Is that the key to health? Maybe!
