I moved back to the house I grew-up in. Started planting natives 3 years ago. In my 48 years, I have never seen a turkey anywhere near here. Now I have one pecking around my native patch.

I live in a fairly developed area and had one land in my backyard a couple years ago. I found out later that a small flock lived in a nearby wooded creek overflow area. The male of the flock would frequently strut through the street and block traffic.
They are shockingly large and an absolute delight to see in person. What a great reason to maintain a native garden!

That’s awesome. Native plants really do bring wildlife back. Looks like a wild turkey just cruising through. Probably found your yard way more inviting than the usual lawns.

If you build it, they will forage.
