Any suggestions? I have an Echo GT222.
I’m likely damaging cutting into the paths and curb (about 50 metres of grass meeting concrete at my place every cut). It’s probably user error, so advice on preventing damage to the head or a product to help me limit the breakage would be great.

Your whippa snippa head?
Do you bump the head to feed line out when you’re on concrete? If you are, try doing it on a grass only area. I had much the same problem as you until I started doing this.
Are you cutting in edges without enough line out? That’s significant amount of damage.
Depending on the power of the whippa snippa an alloy head and a single cut piece of thicker cord works well. That’s what I used to use doing fire breaks behind houses sometimes. You still need to be cautious around rocks and fences to keep the line from breaking but you can cover some ground on a 30cm piece of thick line, the motor just needs to be somewhat powerful to keep the revs and rotation up with a thicker line.
Engineered obsolescence.
I see this as a consumable part on my machine. I’ve been through dozens over the years. I garden for a job
Don’t store it where it gets Sunlight?
My 54v Dewalt brush cutter does the same thing, maybe lasts one season, my ground is mainly red dirt. Luckily they are only 35 bucks , so I treat them as consumables.
The Milwaukee battery head which i think you can buy separately is the best 1 i have had in years. Better then my honda and Stihl ones this is best for 3mm cord if you are getting thicker then that check it will fit.
