Hello fellow plant enthusiasts 🪴
A few months ago, my mom got me a hydroponic system for my dorm room (I study in an agriculture university, so this is not uncommon).
Recently, I rehomed my cherry tomato plants and my snap peas (which grew way bigger than I thought they would, but gave a lot of fruit) and now I’m left with just my strawberry plants.
I’m trying to plan out which plants I should try to grow next, I am a real beginner and I don’t have much experience with this subject.
From what I’ve read on your lovely forum, I should try some leafy greens. I bought some seeds, but I’m too scared to overcrowd my plants and their roots.
These are the new seeds I have: rosemary, celery, lettuce, basil and spearmint.
I need some advice in the following:
A. Which seeds are the most compatible to grow together + with my strawberry plants?
B. Can/should I plant seeds in each of my available pods? Or will it overcrowd the roots/plants?
C. I have been using the fertilizers that came with the hydroponic kits I bought (the ones that come with two types of powders A/B to be mixed with water that then I need to measure out and add to the water I add to my system). I have noticed that my strawberries sprout, but don’t actually grow, is there a problem with the fertilizer that I’m using? (if so, I would love some suggestions.)
Overall, I would love any advice you can give to a novice hydroponic system owner😊 so please be kind💕
