Planting My Spring Garden 🌸 Simple Slow Living Days | Seed Starting & Cozy Cottage Vlog

Hi friends! Lets continue planting my spring garden 🌸 In today’s cozy cottage vlog, I’m spending a few simple slow living days in the garden – sowing seeds, planting new life, and embracing the quiet magic of spring. Gardening in early spring is one of my favorite rituals – connecting with nature, working with the season, and creating a soft, nurturing space around my home. In this vlog, I spend some time tending to my garden beds, I also treated myself to new native plants that I am excited to share with you, I sow new seeds and try a new method! I hope you enjoy a calm and cozy spring day with me in the garden!

  2. The words you shared with us when working with your cards was beautiful! Something that needs to be said and a much needed reminder. ♥️♥️♥️

  3. I still love to garden at 76 years. I had some surprise wild flowers come up this year after years of throwing seeds into pots.

  4. Hello! Have you tried looking for native nurseries in your area ?
Anyways excited to see your garden come to life !

  5. The garden is looking lovely, I love those terracotta pots they are so pretty! Un consejo for the sage, I would nick the seed with a nail clipper or something similar to remove the hard exterior to increase germination and also they like heat so maybe the shed was not warm enough? The soil should also be moist but not wet. I would try again now that it’s probably getting warmer in your area. 💛✨🌷 I’m hoping to get lots of sage this year to make my own bundles🤞🏼

  6. What a wonderful video. Your words are so valuable. I just thought you should know how beautiful they truly are. Blessings kind one. 🙏 Namaste

  7. I can't believe how warm and green your area is. I'm still looking at a winter hellscape 🙁

  8. Enjoy your videos so. In your bowl pond, I think you would like one of those small solar fountains. Helps keep the watrer moving. Also so peaceful to look at and hear the water sounds. Thank you! Looking forward to next video.

  9. Love when you said, "Where I am right now holds just as much worth as where I hope to be" – such a good reminder. Another beautiful video and I love watching your garden take shape 🪴🌻🌄🌟

  10. Love your start!! Gardening is one of the most connected and sacred practices to me. But echinacea is pronounced "eck-in-ay-shuh", calendula is pronounced "cuh-lend-you-la".

  11. Sometimes you can soak the sage seeds overnight and that will help with germination but typically sage takes awhile

  12. Gardening is such a journey.
I wanted to tell you that you can propagate your garden plants…especially the perennials. For me that has opened up a huge avenue for expanding my garden and sharing plants. (With no cost.)I have propagated my California natives and spread them in my front and back yard.
I hope you can find more local resources for natives and for sharing/exchanging plants. 🌻

  13. Hello Kimberly🌻, i hope you are well, and thank you for this video that was very soothing and very peacefull to watch. I just wanted to warn you that borage flowers (the blue one you pick in the garden) are dangerous for pregnancy or pregnant women, as they were used in old times as a way to abort. please be carrefull with it 🙂 i wish you a lovely day or night

  14. Girl I’m not sure exactly where you are at but here are some of my favorite locations in case they are close to you. Harmony in Sebastopol and they have one in Petaluma. I also like Pricketts in Healdsburg and one in Santa Rosa. Kings Nursery in Santa Rosa , smaller but very nice. ❤

  15. Your garden is looking so beautiful, friend! 🌱 I also just planted some chamomile! First time growing that, as well as some basil, rosemary and parsley! 🌿 To plant a garden is to believe in the future 🌞🤎

  16. I replayed the last part a few times…absolutely meditative and healing. Since the very beginning when I first found your videos, you somehow share words that I need to hear at the perfect moment. Many blessings to you and your garden 💕

  17. If you want more variety of flowering plants, you can search for native friendly plants too. Native friendly are plants considered to beneficial to the local ecosystem, and don't spread to over run the native ones.

  18. A super easy trick for planting the little container plants you buy is to dig a hole in the pot or bed you’re going to use, then put the plant AND the container it’s in into the hole. Pack the dirt around it. Then take the plant and container out, and voila! You have the perfect size and shape for your plant. Take the plant out of the container, and if there are a lot of roots tickle them to loosen them, and set the plant into the premade hole and press dirt against it. I either recycle the containers, or use them to grow seedlings.
You probably already knew this, it just took me a few decades and then seeing it on Gardeners World on Britbox (I’ve learned more from that show than anywhere else, and they’ve even shown people’s gardens in California).

  19. this is the first video i’ve seen by you and i’m immediately subscribing. this was so inspiring , calming, and validating. ❤
