We moved into this house outside of Newcastle, NSW and so excited to have a hydrangea plant, but overwhelmed as to how to save her so she had a wonderful bloom next season.

Should I prune the whole thing back?

When should I start?

I must save her! Any advise appreciated!

Just start with pruning the stems with dead flowers. The whole plant will lose all its leaves over winter so don’t be alarmed if it starts to look like it’s dead. This looks like the type that blooms on new grow
