There are three of these attached to the inside of the door to our shed. Does anyone know what it is?

    Looks like a European mantis egg sac

    Definitely look up to see if they are native to your area. If not then maybe a small bonfire so you don’t have to think about it. They are APEX predators insect wise and will kill everything including pollinators for your yard

    It looks like the native Carolina mantis egg sac which is great! It’s good to encourage those native bugs (plus they’re darling).

    Please do not destroy or remove. Those are beneficial insect eggs, specifically preying mantis eggs.

    Those I think are the native ones (for the USA) the Chinese ones look more like a little basket shape, we squish them cause they eat native while life where I am (butterflies and even a humming bird 🙁 )
