This Backyard Waterfall Was Made From Old Tires 🤯#diy #gardening #garden



We turned a bare backyard corner into an amazing DIY waterfall garden using 4 recycled tires, a hidden catch basin, a recirculating pump system, white pebbles, natural rocks, and soft pastel colors.

This build started with a simple layout for the plumbing and the foreground catch basin where the water would be collected. After marking the area, we excavated the trench for the pipe and dug the catch basin at the lowest front section of the backyard.

Next, we lined the catch basin with black vapor barrier plastic, installed the recycle pipe, and added a compact pump so the water could be pushed back up to the top tire. Rocks were placed inside the basin around the pump area, and then soil was added and shaped into a steep cliff-like elevation to support the full waterfall structure.

After the base was prepared, we installed 4 tires in a tight descending line from the back fence to the front foreground. The top tire became the starting point of the waterfall, and a new pipe connection was fitted directly into it so the recycled water could flow back to the highest level.

To help each basin hold water, we lined all 4 tires with black vapor barrier plastic. Then we painted the tires in soft pastel colors: milky white, lavender, mint green, and soft pastel pink. White pebbles were added inside each tire basin, while natural side rocks were arranged around the waterfall to frame the whole design and hold the soil in place.

We also planted dense flowers and greenery around both sides of the waterfall to make the garden look fuller and more natural. In the foreground, the catch basin was completely hidden under large white pebbles so only a clean decorative pebble surface remained visible.

At the final stage, the pump system brought the water back up to the highest tire, creating a strong continuous waterfall through every level and down onto the white pebbles below. What started as an empty backyard turned into a full dreamy backyard waterfall made from old tires.
