The 100+ Women Who Care Door County (100+WWC) donated to three local nonprofits – the Door County Master Gardeners Association (DCMGA), the Hardy Gallery and Third Avenue PlayWorks – during their 31st quarterly giving event on Jan. 26.

The total amount granted was approximately $35,000 from 420 members. DCMGA was the recipient of the main award of approximately $17,500.

“DCMGA will use the 100+WWC grant to increase food security in Door County, to provide community grants to support local nonprofit gardening projects, to augment educational programming, and to provide scholarships for the Master Gardener training course,” DCMGA President Penne Wilson said.

The Hardy Gallery and Third Avenue PlayWorks received the secondary awards of approximately $8,750 each.

The next 100+WWC giving event will be on April 27 at the Kress Pavilion, 7845 Church St. in Egg Harbor. The nonprofits presenting information and organizational goals include Crossroads at Big Creek, STRIDE and Door County Therapy Dog Teams.
