I got this plant as a Christmas gift. I gave it a grow light (Sansi 15w, ~20cm/8in from leaves) for 10/14 hours a day and left in the soil it came in. I had checked roots and they were fine, white and crisp, though a bit thin and rare. Watered it less than 5 times, only when top soil was really dry. It was doing fine until about a month ago when I noticed it had lots of spider mites. I treated it with alcohol and it did fine for another week or two, then leaves started browning and spider mites came back. I treated again with alcohol and no spider mites came back for the past two weeks, but all the leaves died, expect for the newest one, which was also smaller than the previous ones. Today i decided to pull it out (had no time before, unfortunately) and noticed there’s root rot at base of the “bulb” and half of the roots are rotten. Last pic is the day I got it. I dont know how to save this plant, any help?

That alocasia still has a chance if the corm is firm, because at this point it’s more of a corm rescue than a full plant rescue. I’d cut off all the rotten roots, let the base dry a bit, then reroot it in barely damp sphagnum or perlite with warmth and bright indirect light, because alocasias can come back from surprisingly little if the corm itself isn’t mushy 😅
