This is an unknown variety, part of a ‘show tunnel mix’ from South Devon Chilli Farm. The other 20 or so plants are around 40-90% of this size.
We have a short season here in the U.K., so I started these in late Jan. Once germinated on a heat mat in modules I left them under grow lights for around a month, then potted up into 1.5L pots. Started feeding with all purpose liquid feed diluted to 30%, weekly. Once they had 3 sets of true leaves I ramped up to 100% strength, weekly.
I have watered from the bottom to prevent damping off.
The only issue I had was applying too much neem oil to deal with aphids that damaged the leaves of some plants, stunting them.
I have moved the biggest plants into these 10L pots and will gradually harden them off as I run out of space indoors, so they can move into the greenhouse.
Really happy with my achievement this year, it’s the best start I have had.
