Welcome back to Sid’s Garden!
In today’s Sids Garden update I’m taking you through how the raised beds are progressing here in the southeast of South Australia. After a few years of neglect the garden rebuild is well underway, and this week there’s been plenty happening, new growth, a few surprises, and a couple of things that needed to come out.
I walk you through what’s thriving in the raised beds, what I’ve planted recently, and what’s been pulled to make room for the next round of veggies. I’m also sharing my plans for the coming week as the garden continues to take shape, including new plantings and the next steps in the rebuild.
If you enjoy practical, honest Australian gardening content, follow along as I bring this space back to life one bed at a time.

  1. Hey Sid, good to see you also have a foreman on the job. How many do you have? I'm feeding 9 everyday and i know there's a few new ones not quite old enough in the block next door. If you’re worried about salt in the water i'm guessing you’re on a bore, otherwise SAWater publishes an analysis on their website. I had turnips and parsnips last year that did ok on the town water. Google recipes for beetroot chutney, really nice on sangas. Keep em coming.

  2. Thought cats would be a good addition to our garden but I can't keep them from using the garden as their personal litter box. Any suggestions?
