Dunelm customers are snapping up a “gorgeous” outdoor decoration that adds bursts of colour to front doors and outdoor areas in spring. Plenty of shoppers who picked one of these for their gardens returned to get more, claiming that the simple change “transformed” gardens and patios
In the online product description for the £12 hanging ornament, Dunelm bosses wrote: “The Topiary Ball with Purple Flowers is a beautiful hanging decoration that will look great in any home. These gorgeous purple flowers will bring colour and life to your space.”
The bunches of purple flowers closely match real lavender plants. The advantage of these artificial flowers is that people never have to think about typical plant care, like watering, as these bushes only need an occasional wipe with a soft cloth to keep clean.
Similar bunches of artificial lavender can be found at other retailers. For instance, customers could grab the Best Artificial Purple Lavender Lush Long Leaf Flower Topiary Ball, measuring 28cm, from Amazon for £18.99 or the Purple Lush Lavender Hanging Basket from The Range for £16.99, reports the Mirror.
Lots of Dunelm customers were more than satisfied with the £12 bargain. One said: “Purchased some last year and was very pleased, so happy that they are available this year and purchased another two. They look so lovely, and everyone comments on how nice they look. They brighten up the bare walls of the house.”

Another wrote: “They don’t fade and still look fantastic, so I’ve purchased a couple more. They really are excellent value.”
A third person put: “Beautiful artificial purple topiary ball that looks realistic against our fence. We bought two to hang on a wooden arch, and they’ve transformed our small side garden into a relaxing space. No watering required, just a delight to see from our kitchen window.”
Someone else said: “The vivid purple colour of little flowers is perfect. It’s not too large, looks so good hanging by the front door.”
Customer responses were overwhelmingly positive, with more than 80 of 100 reviews awarding these decorative floral balls the top five-star rating. Just a handful gave minor criticisms, with the lowest score reaching three stars.

One of those shoppers claimed: “You only get what you pay for! When I took them out of the box, there were flowers and leaves left behind and no way to put them back. A bit disappointed.”
Another warned repeat customers: “Love these topiary balls. I already had two from last year and I needed two more for the back garden. What a shock when it arrived, it was so much smaller than the last two. Shame, as it’s the same price but seems half the size.”
However, most customers were delighted with the affordable price for effortless colour in their gardens. One five-star review read: “Bought these as a moving-in gift for my sister. I thought they’d be too small, but they are perfect. She loves her new topiary balls, and they really brighten up the outside patio space.”
