I feel kinda bad killing slugs. They've been in this spot for a while. I know cacti are ancient, but where I live they aren't exactly native. Do you feel bad killing things that hurt your cacti? Part of me knows that the damage I catch in action is but a percentage of what is going on, but I couldn't just let this guy go to town on that pup.

I was doing a late night feeding and caught two slugs going out to munch my cacti.
I usually pick the slugs up and throw them as far as I can into a grassy area on the other side of the fence.
I can’t think of a happier day in recent memory than the other morning when I finally killed that rat that was tormenting my collection. We don’t really have slugs in the desert, but I wouldn’t have a problem dispatching them if we did. I’ll let birds slide i suppose
