Why is it green? I only use the flesh inside and it makes a transparent gel.
I also put the leaf in a cup of water beforehand so it drains the yellow latex as it contains aloin, a bitter, strong smelling, and laxative substance.
You can put a spoon or two in fruit juice, it’s good for heartburn.
Add some citric acid to save your gel for longer.
When applied to wounds, burns, or sunburns they heal faster as aloe contains allantoin and many other helpful compounds.

When I harvest mine, its clear because ai peel the skin off. Then I freeze it in an ice cube tray to save for kitchen burns or sunburns.

Interesting. I have thousands of aloe plants and have harvested countless thousands of leaves. I’ve never seen it green like this.
