My partner got me this plant about a month ago, it’s very pretty, it has red leafs here and there, I’m not exactly sure what it is but I was wondering if anyone knew? And if it looks healthy?, I’ve never taken care of plants before and I really wanna make sure I take the best care of this plant as it means a lot to me, I just moved it into a larger “pot” (a bucket a drilled holes in) so it has more room for its roots and I’ve been moving it around the garden so it’s gets lots of morning sun but not to much in the afternoon, I’ve also noticed holes on the leafs here and there? Does anyone know how I can keep bugs off it?

Poincettia. I have never kept them but usually each branch is tipped in red leaves. Not sure if yours is immature and so hasn’t done this yet?
Looks like a poinsettia. It gets red leaves in winter which the nurseries “cheat” here by putting them in fridges a bit before Christmas so they get the red and green foliage to look festive to sell.
Bright indirect light, water when dry. You’ll be right.
A very healthy poinsettia! I have a large one in my backyard, it flowers in winter and it’s really beautiful! I find insects don’t really do too much damage to mine, it goes through cycles of dropping its leaves anyway. I just leave it alone aside from pruning off dead branches, and it always seems to do well. I’m in NSW 🙂
