One of my oldest plants (only 5 1/2 years, but for me that's a lot) so there's a lot of sentimental attachment to this guy.

Not sure what compelled me to repot it (wasn't due), but glad I did because I found some hollowed out caudex-y roots and some squishy rotting ones. Removed them all to the best of my ability and let it dry for a couple days, removed many of the roots that dried up in that time and just re-potted it (waiting a day or two from now to water it).

I made the potting mix possibly a little too chunky this time around, but I'd rather err on the side of caution for a while.

Would be devastated to kill this one so would welcome any advice or if you've experienced the same, how it worked out. Debating whether to take a cutting or two as a back-up.

Thanks in advance for any feedback! Never had any issues with this guy until now, but I must have gotten too confident recently or just lapsed in paying attention. Again, feedback appreciated!
