Did I do this right? 😬

  1. No, those are 2 seperate plants that require 2 support poles. You’ve tied the petioles to the poles not the actual stem of the plant. They need the petiole free to move and face the strongest light source.

    Looks good to me!
I tied my petioles to a stick and the roots followed.
But yes navigate the stem(s). You dont have to separate the two if you dont want to. Thats how they grow in the wild is multiple at rhe bottoms of trees. Goodluck but she’s beautiful!

You’ve tied its arms down!!! Monsters are tricky as a beginner, they have flexible petioles and a back + front to worry about as far as pole placement

As others have said, you need to untie the petioles as that’s where new leaves grow from. Tying them up can hinder/damage new growth. It also restricts the leaves movement. They don’t look like they need support yet, but google how to identify the front and backside of the plant, as in future the support needs to be on the ‘backside’ of the main stem.

Another thing that will help them from being splayed out so much, is to make sure the front of plant is facing the source of light. I know it’s nice to have the leaves facing you so you can see them, but you need to have them facing the window, or provide them with a grow light. When they are facing the wrong side, the petioles grow long a scraggly because the leaves are trying to reach the light.

  5. No offense, but this is the most creative way to do this wrong I’ve seen on this sub so far 😭

No. But they’re certainly nice looking plants. You’re definitely doing a few things right.
