I’ve read white birch is a tough species, so hopefully this insulated pond basket will help it build a robust root system for a few years before it goes into the ground. If it doesn’t branch out this season, I am considering giving it an early chop. Thoughts on that? My goal is to develop a structure I love before thickening it.
