It looks like 3 "vines" fused with each other. Is this a sign of a sickness or a pest? Has this happened to anyone else?

    If I had to guess, I’d say it’s fasciation. I don’t think it’s very common in hoyas, but it’s pretty common in, eg, some cacti (“crested” cacti are fasciated). Very cool!

    Definitely looks like fasciation based on how beefy the stem got! If you are worried about potential flat mites you can get some wettable & dustable sulfur and either make a spray or paste to paint on the plant.

    Check for pests, there is a fair amount of flat mite looking damage on the sides and portions of the older growth.
