
The Annual Easter Sunday Car Parade will take place on Sunday, April 5th. The parade will step off at 12:00 p.m. from 11th Street and Franklin Avenue and proceed south to 7th Street and continue west toward Hilton Avenue.
The Garden City Chamber of Commerce proudly welcomed a new addition to the village’s vibrant downtown with a ribbon cutting ceremony for Nu Med Spa and Integrated Wellness on Thursday, March 26th.
The event was well attended, reflecting the community’s excitement for the spa’s opening. Owner Chrissy Scavo was joined by local officials and Chamber leadership to mark the occasion, including Hempstead Town Clerk Kate Murray, Councilman Thomas Muscarella, and Chamber President John Wilton. Members of the Chamber’s Executive Committee and Board of Trustees were also in attendance, showing strong support for this new local business.
The Chamber extends its congratulations to Chrissy Scavo and the entire Nu Med Spa team and wishes them continued success as they begin serving the Garden City community.

The Garden City Chamber of Commerce is proud to present its 71st Annual Easter Sunday Car Parade, taking place this Sunday, April 5th—a longstanding tradition that has been part of the community for more than seven decades and for 71 of the Chamber’s 100-year history.
Participants may begin lining up at 10:00 a.m., with the parade officially stepping off at 12:00 p.m. from 11th Street and Franklin Avenue. The parade will proceed south to 7th Street and continue west toward Hilton Avenue, creating a festive route through the heart of the village.
This celebrated event continues to bring tremendous visibility and pride to both the Chamber and the Garden City community. Each year, it attracts passionate car owners showcasing their prized vehicles—from vintage classics to modern luxury cars, specialty models, and muscle cars. Participants travel from across Nassau and Suffolk Counties, New York City, Westchester, and even neighboring states, making the parade a true regional attraction.
In addition to the Car Parade, the Garden City Property Owners’ Association, in conjunction with the Chamber, will host the Second Annual Easter Bonnet Parade—a charming and fast-growing tradition. Categories will include Cute Kids Hats, Family Hats, and even Dog Hats, adding a fun and festive element for participants of all ages.
Those wishing to join the Easter Bonnet Parade are invited to gather in front of The French Workshop, located at the corner of 7th Street and Franklin Avenue, at 11:45 a.m., dressed in their most creative Easter attire.
