I have 1 main tip for growing blueberries successfully and that is using a water-soluble fertilizer that increase soil acidity. I show you how to plant new blueberry plants and take care of establish plants in the spring.

*Error at 2:54. Should say decrease soil pH if leaves are not green. That increases acidity.

  1. Thanks for the tips… we inherited about 5 blueberries a couple years ago from my brother… Who had no information on them, couldn’t remember what types they were 🤣🤣 He always hired others to care for his garden. So now we’ve been trying to revitalize them for the past two years. We are really going to focus on them this spring, to try invigorating them once again. Appreciate the video.

  2. Greetings Gary! Thanks for the extra tips. I learned in your class the multiple use of peete moss and we keep it always! I once learned from a South African farmer to use sparkling water and lemon juice here and there for the acidity in the soil too. It made a huge difference in the amount of production of fruit with our O'neal Highbush Southern Blueberry bush the last few years in our half of whiskey barrel.

  3. My soil has a pH of 7. Irrigation water can go up to a pH of 9. Planted in a mix of spagnum peat and pine fines mixed with a bit of perlite in a 4x8x17 inch tall raised bed

  4. Interesting, I didn't know there early and late. I'll see if I can add some to stretch my season. Thank you.

  5. My spring/summer fruiting ones get eaten by birds, my autumn fruiting one doesn’t. Fewer chicks to feed? ❤🙇🏻‍♀️💐

  6. I just bought some of that Miracid stuff for my Blueberries, just wasnt sure when the first application of the year should be.
