There are mangrove-covered boardwalks and even a butterfly garden.
The gardens currently have 3,500 flowering annuals.
“We’ve got more than a million different blooms on any given day,” said Adam Ehlert, the Peace River Botanical and Sculpture Gardens chief development officer. “And the theme is color from A to Z. And we’ve color walk and you can see every color in the rainbow throughout our gardens.”
The gardens are complemented by a variety of sculptures throughout the 30-acre property.
Also, the garden’s boardwalk takes visitors to a serenity gazebo in the brackish waters of the Peace River on the edge of Charlotte Harbor.
Further down the riverbank, a mangrove tunnel covers the walk offering beauty and shade.
“And it’s one of my favorite spots in the gardens,” Ehlert said. “Because the view changes by the day or frankly, by the hour.”
